THE BRITISH SOAP AWARDS 2016 VOTE: VOTING INTERACTION INFORMATION
Voting method and cost:
Viewers can vote for their favourite nominee in each of the following two categories: Best Actor and Best Actress (the “two categories”) and for their favourite nominee in the Best British Soap category (the “Best British Soap category”) at The British Soap Awards 2016 (the “programme”). There will be two rounds of public voting for each of these categories. You may register your vote by the following methods:
Go to www.britishsoapawards.tv or www.whatsontv.co.uk/soaps (the “websites”) and follow the instructions there. Once you have voted you will receive a confirmation email. In order to complete the voting process you must follow the validation procedure in the confirmation email received. If you do not follow this validation procedure before the deadline as specified, your vote will not be counted. There is no charge when voting via the websites, although internet service providers’ fees may apply when you access the internet and these fees will not be refunded by ITV.
You may vote via post by filling in an original voting form as published in What’s On TV magazine (for both rounds of voting). Please note that photocopies or other duplication of the voting form will not be accepted. Complete the form as instructed in the publications, place it in a sealed envelope with sufficient postage paid and post it to: The British Soap Awards 2016, c/o The Election Centre, 33 Clarendon Road, London N8 0NW. Voting forms which do not have sufficient postage or which are incorrectly addressed or which arrive at the above address after the deadline as specified will be invalid and will not be counted.
Please note that it is not possible to vote via any other method unless otherwise specified by the Promoter.
You must vote in every category for your vote to be valid.
One online vote per category may be submitted per email address during the first round of voting and one online vote per category may be submitted per email address during the second round of voting. If voting by post up to five (5) people per household may submit one vote each per category during the first round of voting and one vote each per category during the second round of voting. If you exceed these limits your vote will not be counted. For the avoidance of doubt the capping limits apply to each of the two rounds of voting. You do not need to vote for the same nominee in each round.
First round voting – the two categories will each contain a selection of up to 15 nominees and the Best British Soap category will contain a selection of 5 nominees. The total number of nominees in the Best British Soap category will remain at 5 throughout each round of voting.
Second round voting – each of the two categories will contain a selection of up to 5 nominees. The shortlist for the Best British Soap category will contain the same nominees who were listed in the first round of voting.

The Promoter is committed to operating the voting fairly, and to preventing abuse of the voting systems. For this reason, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify and/or discount votes in the circumstances set out in clause 7 of the ITV General Competition, Prize Draw, Vote and Poll Terms and Conditions. These circumstances include (without limitation) where there has been excessive manipulation of the outcome of the voting, where votes have been made in breach of the Terms and Conditions, and where there has been any activity which unfairly advantages a voter or nominee or unfairly influences the outcome.
For the Best British Soap category, the results from the first round voting will be carried over to the results for the second round voting stage, and the voting results will represent the accumulated votes achieved in both the first round voting and the second round voting stages. For the two categories, all valid votes from the first round of voting are used for the purpose of determining the 5 nominees who progress to the second round, and the voting results for those 5 nominees will represent the accumulated votes achieved in both the first round voting and second round voting stages.
In the event of a tie in fifth place in either of the two categories in the first round voting, each of the nominees which receive the joint highest number of votes will advance to the second round voting. In the event of a tie in any of the categories in the second round voting, each of the nominees which receive the joint highest number of votes will share the award.
Winners will be announced at the British Soap Awards which will be broadcast on ITV at a time to be announced in May 2016.
